A Refreshing Escape into Nature

After breakfast, we will drive from our hotel to the holy town of Pharping, which lies just a few kilometers southwest of Kathmandu. From Pharping, we will go on a moderate hike to the top of Champadevi Hill. It is generally a target of travelers who want to enjoy the beauty of Kathmandu Valley without going too far away from the city. While it goes upward through an uplifted pine forest and rhododendron bloom, it bestows captivating views of the surrounding hills, terraced farmlands, and the distant snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. It is a summit that provides a spectacular panorama of Kathmandu Valley, along with the towering Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.

Having saturated ourselves with the tranquility and beauty at the top, we start descending down to Pharping from where our vehicle will take us further. On the way back home, we visit Taudaha Lake, the serene small yet highly important water body filled with local myths and legends. Not only that, but we also get to see Chovar Gorge, an ancient natural creation believed to have drained the primeval lake that once filled the Kathmandu Valley. This is a perfect mixture on this day hike of nature, culture, and history that no trek enthusiast can miss visiting Kathmandu.
