Tourist Visa

The tourist visa is the most common visa for travelers visiting Nepal. It is available on arrival for citizens of most countries at Tribhuvan International Airport and various land entry points.

Note: There are a few countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Cameroon, Swaziland, Iraq, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Palestine. People from these nations do not receive visas at Nepal's immigration entrance ports.

Duration and Fees

  • 15 days: USD 30 (or equivalent in convertible currency)
  • 30 days: USD 50 (or equivalent in convertible currency)
  • 90 days: USD 125 (or equivalent in convertible currency)
  • SAARC nationals: Enjoy a free visa for up to 30 days!

Visas are not required for personals having Indian passport. If they enter Nepal by air, they must show one valid form of identity (passport, voter ID, or citizenship). Then, children under the age of ten must present their birth certificates.

Transit Visa

For travelers who have to transit through Nepal for less than 24 hours, a transit visa is available for USD 5. Proof of onward travel is required.
