Risk-Free Booking Policy

Shikhar Adventure Risk Free Booking Policy

Risk-Free Booking Policy

We know travelers sometimes hesitate before booking a trip to Nepal, especially during periods of unrest, unpredictable weather, or global uncertainty. Trekking and touring in Nepal continues to run smoothly, and the country remains safe and welcoming for visitors. Even so, we want every traveler, whether booking for the first time or already holding a confirmed trip with us, to feel completely secure about their plans and their money.

That's what this policy is for. Below, we explain exactly how your deposit is protected, what happens if your plans change, and how to move your trip instead of losing it.

How Your Deposit Is Protected

Confirming a trip with Shikhar Adventure requires a 20% deposit of the total trip cost. The remaining balance is only due upon your arrival in Nepal. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel outright, but it is never simply lost if your plans change, it can instead be carried forward as credit toward a future trip.

If You Can't Travel As Planned

If unrest, travel restrictions, personal circumstances, or anything else prevents you from traveling on your original dates, you don't need to cancel. Instead, notify us at least four weeks before your scheduled arrival date, and we will postpone your trip rather than close it out.

Once postponed, your deposit is held as credit with no expiry date. You are not required to choose new travel dates immediately, you can decide when you're ready, and travel whenever the timing works for you.

Flexibility Built Around You

This policy is designed to adapt to real life, not just a single "what if" scenario:

  • Your credit applies per person, so a future trip doesn't need to match your original group size.
  • You can postpone more than once if circumstances require it, as long as you notify us in advance each time.
  • The policy applies equally to new bookings and to trips you've already confirmed with us.

If You Cancel Instead of Postponing

Postponing protects your deposit; cancelling does not. If you cancel your trip entirely rather than rescheduling, the 20% deposit is forfeited and cannot be converted into credit. We only recommend cancellation if you're certain you won't travel with us in the future, in every other case, postponement keeps your money working for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my deposit refundable if I cancel?

No. The 20% deposit is non-refundable on cancellation. It is only protected when you postpone instead.

Do I have to pick new travel dates right away when I postpone?

No. Your credit has no expiry date, so you can decide on new dates whenever you're ready.

What if my group size changes for the rescheduled trip?

That's fine. Credit is tracked per person, not per original booking, so your group can be larger or smaller than before.

Can I postpone more than once?

Yes, as long as you contact us at least four weeks before each scheduled departure.

Does this apply if I already have a confirmed booking?

Yes. This policy covers both new bookings and trips already confirmed with Shikhar Adventure.

How is this different from a standard cancellation policy?

Most operators simply forfeit your deposit if you can't travel. We convert it into open-ended, per-person credit instead, so a change of plans doesn't mean a loss of money.

Where can I read the full Terms and Conditions?
