Dambar began his career in tourism with enthusiasm and determination, inspired by the gorgeous Himalayas and the trekkers who passed through his birthplace of Dhading. He started as a porter and worked relentlessly for four years before receiving his trekking guide license from the Nepal government.
Dhading sits between Kathmandu and Pokhara, with the Prithvi Highway running along the Trishuli River below and the Ganesh Himal rising to the north. For a boy growing up there, trekkers heading for the big mountains were a familiar sight, and that is where his interest in the trails first took root.
With his license, Dambar led trekkers through Nepal's stunning routes, including Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Mustang, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, and many other off-the-beaten-path trails.
He didn't just guide treks in Nepal; he also became a well-known guide in Tibet, leading numerous tours there.
Driven by his experiences and a desire to offer the best holiday experiences, Dambar founded Shikhar Adventure in 2018. His goal is to provide exceptional, firsthand holiday experiences at competitive prices in Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet.
