Trekking Guide
Narayan Thapa

Narayan Thapa is from Dhading, a hilly district where you wake up to mountain views almost every day. He wasn’t born into the tourism world — after school, he moved to Kathmandu looking for work, and that’s where his trekking journey began.

Like many guides, he started as a porter. It was hard work, carrying heavy loads through long, steep trails, but Narayan never complained. People noticed how dependable and cheerful he was, even on the toughest days. Bit by bit, he learned the routes, trained, and earned his place as a licensed trekking guide.

Over the past 10+ years, he’s led treks all over Nepal — Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Langtang, Manaslu, and plenty of quiet trails that most visitors never see. He’s also guided pilgrims all the way to Kailash Manasarovar in Tibet, a journey that’s as demanding as it is meaningful.

Since joining Shikhar Adventure in 2019, Narayan has become one of those guides people remember long after the trek is over. He speaks English well, knows the trails like the back of his hand, and genuinely cares about the people he’s guiding. Ask his past clients and they’ll tell you — he’s honest, friendly, and the kind of person who’ll make sure you’re safe, comfortable, and enjoying yourself out there in the mountains.
