Ramkumar Thapa, often known as Tilak, grew up in the green hills of Dhading, a district famed for its rough beauty and kind inhabitants. He felt at home in the mountains from a young age. That bond only got deeper while he was in the Nepal Army, where he learnt discipline, how to be strong, and how to walk boldly over some of the hardest terrain. He also got to climb a few peaks while he was in the service. These experiences made him appreciate climbing and respect how hard it is to climb mountains.
When he left the service, it made sense to make his hobby his job. For the past seven years, Ramkumar has led trekkers and climbers through Nepal's most famous routes, including Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu. He has also led climbing trips to some of the country's less well-known peaks.
People who have trekked with him say he is kind, honest, and attentive. He cares about your safety as much as he cares about making sure you have a good time on the trip. He knows the routes, the villages, and the weather patterns like an old friend. He's always ready with a story or some local knowledge to make the walk more interesting.
Ramkumar Thapa is the perfect guy to have by your side if you want to discover the Himalayas with a guide that is both very precise and really loves the mountains.
