Today is putting the final touch on your preparations for your climb. In the morning after breakfast, we are here to help check all your equipment to make sure you are set with everything you need for the upcoming days. At the last minute, if you have forgotten something or need to pick something up, Thamel—Kathmandu's bustling center—offers a bounty of items.

Besides briefing about route, safety measures, and local etiquette during the trek, besides gear it might be useful to arrange: and the last day, if time allows, for exploring the cultural highlights of Kathmandu, for example, Durbar Square, or maybe trying a traditional Nepali meal. This day will be needed for acclimatization before the beginning of the adventure.

Max Altitude: 1,400 m / 4,593 ft Meals: BreakfastAccommodation: Hotel

Drive down to Jagat at 1300 meters after breakfast. While en route take in country scenes, terraced fields, and traditional villages, beside meandering rivers as you receive a preview of the diverse landscapes that await you. Leaving chaotic sights in Nepal City, the tranquil rural scenery unfolds before your eyes -- magnificent glimpses in the distance of the Himalayas.

We check into the rooms once we reach Jagat. The serene environment of this village is most befitting for relaxation and to calm our minds before starting our trek. Rest and explore the tranquil village in a low-key way.

Max Altitude: 1,300 m / 4,265 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today, we start our trekking from Jagat to Dunaque at an altitude of 1860 meters. The altitude heightens slowly and steadily for about 5-6 hours through different landscapes, a scenic beauty of the Annapurna region. You'll pass by all terraced fields on the hike, which is evidence of farming by the local communities and small villages where normally people pass time themselves in these remote areas.

The path is a bit soft, relaxed in gradient, allowing you to acclimatize easily as altitude increases. You have breathtaking views at each turn, by which the flows follow different flora and fauna with a constant sound of the river below you. You will be in a very quiet area in Dunaque, ideal for resting up after your first day on the trail. Views from the village are immense, with hills and mountains rising all around. It provides a good reward to the views from the climb and a warm-up with a view of what is to come.

Max Altitude: 1,860 m / 6,102 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

The next day will be a tough and entertaining one, so be prepared for a longer trek from Dunaque to Chame, which lies at an altitude of 2610 meters. It will take almost 8 to 9 hours through steady inclines along different types of landscapes. This trail will take you through dense pine and rhododendron forests, with the scent of pine needles filling the air and birds singing all around. With increasing altitude, the landscapes change over to alpine meadows with vistas of snow-capped peaks belonging to the Annapurna range.

It passes through villages of this area that are not only traditional but also present their peculiar architecture and way of life. With every step, you come closer to the very heart of the Himalayas; with every kilometer, the sense grows: adventure. Finally, Chame is an administrative center of Manang District, where this hard work will pay off with mountain vistas. Chame is full of camps where you can rest, rejuvenate yourself, and exchange stories of adventure among other fellow travelers. Towering peaks provide the ideal setting for a challenging day of climbing while beauty and charm seal it off at Chame.

Max Altitude: 2,610 m / 8,563 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today's hike from Chame will be to Pisang, a lovely settlement at 3300 meters, which will take approximately 5-6 hours. As we ascend, the track transitions from lush trees to more open, alpine terrain. The breathtaking panoramas of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal, combined with the pure mountain air and panoramic views, make this stretch quite delightful.

As we get closer to Pisang, you'll pass traditional Tibetan-style villages and get a glimpse of the culture of the locals living here. Pisang itself is split into upper and lower parts, to which you might want to pay attention. This village works as a perfect spot for acclimatization, touring monasteries, and being in peaceful surroundings with breathtaking views.

Max Altitude: 3,300 m / 10,827 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today, we continue the journey from Pisang to Manang, which is at an altitude of 3540 meters. The path takes 5-6 hours through diverse landscapes: lush green forests to meadowy land and dry, rocky land. From here, you'll get a new perspective on the Annapurna massif, bearing on it Annapurna II and III towering magnificently in the horizon. The altitude gain is marked by gradual thinning of vegetation, reflecting harsher conditions of high Himalayas, as we go higher up.

Manang is the major halting place of the Annapurna Circuit and is taken as an important acclimatization spot for trekkers. Rich in cultural heritage, this town has vestiges of a bygone era, ancient monasteries, stone houses that seem to have stood since ages, and a very lively Tibetan Buddhist community. You can also stroll around this town, visiting local monasteries to know and understand more about the unique culture and traditions of the people living in this remote region. Manang is also a location offering the best views of surrounding peaks, thus suitable for rest and acclimatization. This is the day to bask in the thinner air and get ready for sections lying ahead on the trek.

Max Altitude: 3,540 m / 11,614 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today is a rest day in Manang, acclimatizing to your bodies for the higher altitude ahead. This is a very important rest day for your health and well-being as we progress into a more challenging country. This will help in acclimatization; hence, we take a leisurely hike to the beautiful Gangapurna Lake having great views of the surrounding peaks with imposing Gangapurna and Annapurna ranges. Great views of the serene turquoise-colored lake contrasting against towering mountains create a picture-perfect scene—peaceful and awe-inspiring.

Besides hiking, you can spend today exploring Manang's rich cultural and natural treasury. The homestay gives an opportunity to see daily rituals being conducted in these local monasteries, which highlight their spiritual culture. One gets an interaction with the locals, knows their way of life, and how they battle the challenges of living in such a high-altitude, far-off place. It's not only a day of acclimatization to your body but also can give the opportunity about the culture and natural beauty over the Annapurna region of intense knowledge. At the end of this day, your readiness and confidence will rise for an absolutely new hike the next day.

Max Altitude: 3,540 m / 11,614 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Being well-rested after a day in Manang, we made our way up to Shree Kharka, located at 4060 meters. A 5- to 6-hour trek through rough and wild landscapes was followed in this area by splendid views of the Himalayas as one climbed higher. The trail becomes increasingly tougher, the higher we gain in altitude, thinning air, and more desolate, rocky terrain. Against all the odds, the views just keep on coming, urging on each step upwards and closer to these soaring peaks all around.

The road to Shree Kharka goes along such a wonderful landscape whose likeness changes rapidly to a high-altitude setting with sparse vegetation and different views of mountains. The isolation of Shree Kharka contributes to the character of the place and its sense of solitude and tranquility that is felt nowhere else. The village's acclimatization point is done before going on to the higher elevations of Tilicho Lake and Thorong La Pass. Have a stop-over, rest, and enjoy the panoramic view. It is also a great achievement to the human self being at this high-altitude base. It is an environment of silence with the blowing breeze of fresh mountain air that puts Shree Kharka in place to relax and catch up with energy for the following day.

Max Altitude: 4,060 m / 13,320 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today's trek is from Shree Kharka to the Tilicho Lake Base Camp, where we will spend time at an altitude that will set us up for visiting one of the highest lakes in the world. The trail today will walk us through rugged steep rocky route characteristics and even some loose scree. It is pretty challenging, but still the rewards are for sure worth it. The views up high get more and more spectacular, with peaks belonging to the Annapurna range looming closer and closer.

Reaching Tilicho Base Camp, you will be within a barren, rough-looking environment that can give a slight sensation of a different planet. One can notice that the base camp is located in such very remote and isolated areas that it does not have any kind of disturbance from the populated places. Hence, altitude and tranquility from the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers create a unique atmosphere. You can take some rest after arrival, acclimatize to the height, and basically look around since tomorrow will be the big day, the awaited day to trek to Tilicho Lake. What will happen in fact is that, during this waiting period, you have an air of thrill and adventure right in front of visiting this beautiful gift of Mother Nature.

This day is one of the highlights in the whole trek as we head for Tilicho Lake, located at an amazing 4919 meters above sea level. One has to climb to get up to the lake; it's some hard work with steep gradients and a test of both physical and mental fortitude, but then the moment Tilicho comes into view, everything is put into full play. The lake, with vecuronically high summits surrounding and venting glaciers, is a spectacle of a kind. That could be the case—deep blue water reflecting the sky and the mountains; behold a scene as beautiful and peaceful as nowhere else on earth.

After soaking in the beauty and probably taking a few pictures around this lake, we will prepare for our descent back to Shree Kharka. The way back is as hard as the way up, but you will be filled with a sensational feeling of fulfillment and the closing scenes of the captivating scenery of Tilicho Lake. Rest and relaxation will be provided once you descend back to Shree Kharka. The trek to Tilicho Lake is forever; it is evidence that will stare in the face of beauty and pride, the Himalayas.

Max Altitude: 4,919 m / 16,138 ft. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today's trek to Yak Kharka will be easier because of the hardest way to Tilicho Lake; still, it has challenges on the way when we enter the barren and rough landscape of high-altitude trekking. The trek will take a full 4-5 irregular hours in changing topography within barren universes of the Himalaya. The trail goes gradually up to give you time to acclimatize to the altitude as you trek through this remote region.

Yak Kharka is at 4018 meters and is a small little settlement where trekkers usually make a stopover for rest on their way to Thorong La Pass. The meaning of the name is, in fact, "Yak Pasture," a place where yaks are often seen grazing in the surrounding meadows. The area itself has a commanding view of the Annapurna range, and the restfulness in the high-altitude environment is outstandingly big to help deliver an awesome setting for rest and reflection. By the time you retire to bed, there will already be a high sense of anticipation for crossing over Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world.

Max Altitude: 4,018 m / 13,182 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today, we trek from Yak Kharka to High Camp, the final stop before the much-awaited crossing of the Thorong La Pass. Steading going up, one is pushed into an ever rugged, challenging area. Altitude will become more apparent in reaching 4800m, since the air gets thinner, literally adding the price that one pays in each step that one takes. This trek offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, chucking constant reminders of what sets out to be realistic landscapes that surround you.

High Camp is a very small, isolated outpost balanced on a ridge with views in every direction. This, therefore, is the trekkers' most crucial point in trying to cross over the Thorong La Pass—a sanctuary where people can take some rest and acclimatize themselves before the last push. The vegetation is scarce; the environment is very stark, bare, and without much vegetation, but abundant in natural beauty. By the time one retires to bed, the eagerness and a hint of anxiety about the next crossing will already have set in. It is the last preparation before the highest point of the trek, and the sense of adventure will be at its peak.

Max Altitude: 4,800 m / 15,748 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Today you will accomplish your dream: crossing the 5,416m high Thorong La Pass—a day trekking at the highest point along the Annapurna Circuit. It is a tough day on the trail this morning as we leave camp early and progressively make our way up to cross the pass before the weather goes haywire.

The ascent is exceptionally arduous because of the thin air, making every step harder than usual. But the sense of achievement as you gain the top of the pass is something indefinable. At the top, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, and to the west, it opens up into the vast expense of the Mustang region.

We will begin to descend in the direction of Muktinath, an extremely sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. This descent is steep and tough, but the sensation that you have successfully crossed one of the highest trekking passes around the globe will keep you in a motivational state.

You will have enough time to visit the temple complex at Muktinath, very famous for its religious meaning, with lots of pilgrims arriving here from Nepal and India. The silent solemnity of Muktinath, combined with the striking beauty of the mountains surrounding it, provides a befitting end to what is, for most people, one of the longest days and most challenging and exhilarating experiences of the trek.

Max Altitude: 5,416 m / 17,769 ft Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Teahouse

Next, after a proper rest in Muktinath, we drive to Pokhara, descending from the high-altitude Mustang region down to the lush lower Himalayas. Our scenic drive follows through the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge with Dhaulagiri and Annapurna towering above, then descends back down through arid landscapes that give way to fertile valleys and lush forests.

You will visit the serene, clear Phewa Lake and the cool lakeside atmosphere. This is one of the famous trekking towns, from which a variety of activities from boat rides to visiting the World Peace Pagoda make the place full of life. Combine these in such a way that your mind starts relaxing and indulging in self-contemplation.

Max Altitude: 822 m / 2,697 ft Meals: Breakfast & LunchAccommodation: Hotel

Today, we either take a short flight or drive back to Kathmandu. In the meantime, en route, we will have the opportunity to view the breathtaking panorama of the villages and terraced fields. The other option provides capturing the last panorama of the Himalayas from the sky itself.

On your final day in Kathmandu, upon arrival, you will have the remainder of the day to yourself to spend as you see fit. It might be last-minute shopping, seeing any missed sites, resting in a coffee shop, or relaxing with massages—just take a moment to reflect on your unforgettable Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek and the experiences you had along the route.

Max Altitude: 1,400 m / 4,593 ft. Meals: BreakfastAccommodation: Hotel
