At Tribhuvan International Airport, we begin our day humming with enthusiasm for the trip ahead. Anticipating the breathtaking vistas, we go on our plane to Lukla In about twenty minutes, we arrive in Lukla, a little hamlet in the Khumbu Region sometimes referred to as the gateway to Mount Everest. Lukla welcomes us with amazing Himalayan views and a window into Sherpa way of life. We recover briefly then start our journey, our first official steps into this amazing trip. Following a filling lunch in Jorsalle beside the flowing Dudhkoshi River, we cross a magnificent suspension bridge and our excitement grows as we almost firstly sight Mount Everest.

About three in the afternoon, we reach Namche Bazaar, which is alive with activity and situated at 3,440 meters (11,286 feet). The kind Sherpa people welcome us. Between busy stores and little cafes, we get ready for an amazing journey in the Everest area.

Following a fulfilling five-hour trek, we reach Tengboche, tucked away at 3,860 meters (12,664 feet) and steeped in ancient history. Here Lama Gulu established the biggest Dawa Choling Gompa in the area, currently known as Tengboche Monastery.

But Tengboche presents amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, not only a historical place. We consider the remarkable events of the day as night falls and absorb the peace of nature.

We negotiate the varied terrain for the next five to six hours, going through the small Sherpa community of Pangboche tucked under the grand Ama Dablam. Though tempted to stay, our road calls us ahead.

At last Dingboche appears, the highest hamlet in the region located at 4,410 meters (14,468 feet). After a day's climb to these heights, the sense of success is quite thrilling.

After a full breakfast, we headed toward Lobuche—quite remarkably 4,940 meters above sea level. Two hours later we stop at Thukla for a basic yet filling lunch. Renewed, we keep climbing Thukla Top adorned with moving sculptures honoring climbers lost on Everest trips.

We pay our homage and start an amazing climb to Lobuche. Lobuche has simply a few teahouses, but far apart. We break for a minute then head to the adjacent Khumbu Glacier to finish our day with a once-in- a-lifetime walking expedition.

During the vibrant Spring season, the base camp buzzes with bustle as visitors from all around the world gather motivated by the aim of climbing Everest. We document incredible events against the backdrop of the tallest mountain on Earth in this hostile environment.
