When you arrive at the airport, Shikhar's representative will greet you. He will then take you to your accommodation in Kathmandu. After checking into the hotel, you have a full day at open to you. You can explore neighboring landmarks or stroll through Thamel's streets. Alternatively, you may relax at the hotel and get familiar with the surroundings.

Today, you will discover the Kathmandu Valley's timeless architecture and breathtaking beauty. After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at 8 a.m. and give you a quick outline of the day's activities. Then, with your guide, you'll see the capital city's four main sights: Swayambhunath Maha Chaitya (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

We'll also get the special permit required to travel in the Upper Mustang area. This permission assures a smooth voyage ahead. With your permit in hand, you're ready to go on a memorable journey across Upper Mustang's mysterious landscapes.

After a hearty breakfast in the morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and accompany you to the bus station. From there, you'll embark on a journey to Pokhara aboard a tourist bus, eagerly anticipating the adventures that await.

Along the way, the scenic route offers glimpses of the majestic Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers, adding to the beauty of the journey. As you traverse through the picturesque landscapes, characterized by terraced rice fields and rolling hills, the anticipation for the trek ahead builds.

Pokhara; the tourism capital of Nepal, is renowned for its serene charm and natural beauty. Nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas, this tranquil haven offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Embarking on our adventure, we'll fly to Jomsom, the heart of Mustang, amidst towering peaks like Mount Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Known for its abundance of apples, apricots, and walnuts, Jomsom awaits our exploration.

Following a brief 20-minute flight, our journey meanders alongside the Kaligandaki River, a serene path that leads us to Kagbeni. Here, nestled by the confluence of two rivers, we'll immerse ourselves in the tranquil ambiance as we prepare to spend the night.

As the sun dips behind the mountains, Kagbeni's rustic charm unfolds. With each passing hour, we'll soak in the essence of this ancient settlement, where time seems to stand still amidst the Himalayan landscape.

Tomorrow holds promises of further discovery as we continue our expedition through the enchanting realms of the Mustang region. But for now, we revel in the simple joys Kagbeni has to offer, embracing the serenity of this riverside haven under the starlit sky.

After a hearty breakfast, we'll set off for Chhusang. Alongside the Kaligandaki River, the trail unveils vistas resembling intricate carvings. Numerous stone and mud houses, apple gardens, and grazing sheep enrich our journey.

As we traverse, the landscape presents itself like a masterpiece, seemingly crafted by divine hands. Quaint villages dotting the route, adorned with rustic charm, evoke a sense of tranquility. Amidst this scenic route, Chhusang emerges as a gem, embraced by lush apple gardens.

Nestled within the beauty of nature, Chhusang welcomes us with open arms. The allure of the village lies in its simplicity and serenity. Here, amidst the fragrant orchards and pastoral scenes, we shall find rest for the night.

Starting our day around 8 in the morning, we pass through the charming village of Samar, setting out on a natural trekking route. Along this scenic path, we stumble upon the fascinating Ranchung Chungsi cave.

This cave holds immense significance for both Hindu and Buddhist believers. Legend has it that Guru Ringboche sought solace here during his journey to Kailash in the 8th century. Today, it's home to a few lama, who dedicate their time to meditation and care for the cave.

After our exploration of Ranchung Chungsi, we make our way to Syangbochen, where we'll spend the night. As evening falls, we find ourselves amidst peaceful surroundings, reflecting on the day's adventures and eagerly looking forward to what tomorrow brings.

After having breakfast, we embark on a journey through Tibetan-styled houses and Buddhist monuments, heading towards the majestic Yamda La. Taking our time to savor the scenic beauty, we slowly traverse the barley fields, offering a chance to soak in the tranquility of the surroundings. As we ascend the Nyi Pass (4010m), it's essential to pace ourselves and appreciate the breathtaking vistas that unfold before us.

The steep descent from Nyi Pass might pose a challenge, but fear not, for it leads us to the charming village of Ghami, nestled amidst the rugged mountains. Crossing the Ghami River requires careful navigation, but once crossed, we continue our adventure towards Tsarang Village (3540m), predominantly inhabited by the indigenous Lhobas.

Transitioning through these picturesque landscapes can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. However, rest assured that each step taken brings us closer to experiencing the rich cultural heritage and natural wonders of the region. As we immerse ourselves in the local way of life, mingling with the Lhoba community in Tsarang Village, we find ourselves embraced by their warmth and hospitality.

On Day 10 of the Upper Mustang trek, we start our journey from the ancient city of Lo Manthang, situated at an altitude of 3,840 meters (12,600 feet). This day’s trek takes us to the charming village of Yara, which sits at 3,607 meters (11,834 feet).

The trek covers a distance of approximately 19 kilometers (12 miles) and takes about 6-7 hours. The route offers breathtaking views of the rugged landscapes unique to the Mustang region. Expect to see vast barren lands, deep canyons, and striking rock formations.

One of the highlights of this trek is the visit to Ghar Gompa, an ancient monastery known for its stunning murals and spiritual significance. This sacred site provides a serene and enriching experience, adding a spiritual dimension to the trek.

Begin your morning trek from Tange, retracing your steps towards Chhusang. The trail winds through Upper Mustang's rugged terrain and traditional villages, offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscapes. Arrive in Chhusang around midday, greeted by the scenic beauty of the Kali Gandaki River valley. Drive to Jomsom Later in the afternoon, embark on a scenic jeep ride from Chhusang to Jomsom. As you approach Jomsom, framed by the towering Nilgiri mountains, take in the awe-inspiring scenery and settle into your accommodation for a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast at the Pokhara Hotel, we proceed to the bus park. From there, we take a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. After a magnificent 6-7 hour trip with a lunch break, we will arrive in Kathmandu.
